‘Cockpit for Antoine’ puts disabled teen in his own pilot seat

Meet Antoine. Antoine is a 13-year-old flying enthusiast and an accomplished drone pilot who lives in Blainville, Quebec. He also happens to have Duschennes Muscular Dystrophy which means he relies on a wheelchair to get around.

Antoine uses his drone to help him see the world in ways just aren’t possible for many others with his illness. As a growing young man, the time had come for a new wheelchair and a family friend reached out to the Air Canada Foundation to see if we could help.

It began with a cold call to a few aviation companies, hoping for “a few decals” for a new electric wheelchair for Antoine Dupont, a drone enthusiast with muscular dystrophy. Then it just took off. Les Services Airbase Canada was proud to be part of this endeavour.
